Interview with Laura Beloff

Laura Beloff is an internationally acclaimed artist who has been actively producing works and exhibiting worldwide in museums, galleries and art events since the 1990’s. During recent years: 2013 in Finland, Norway, and Brussels, Hamburg and in Helsinki in 2012, in Vienna 2011, in Brazil 2008 and at the Venice Biennale 2007. Beloff has received various grants, art residencies and awards. She is frequently publishing and lecturing about her artistic research practice in universities and various conferences. Research interests include practice-based investigations into a combination of information, technology and organic matter, which is located in the cross section of art, technology and science. Her research has had a specific focus on a technologically enhanced human figure in the global society who is adapting to an increasingly complex world that includes technological, modified environments. The research engages with the wide field of art–science–technology including areas such as biosemiotics, biomedia, robotics and ICT technology in tight connection to art, humans and society. Currently she is Associate Professor and Head of Section at IT-University in Copenhagen.
