Interview with Gabriele Romeo
Gabriele Romeo was born in Palermo in 1983. He has a bachelor’s degree in Science and Technology of the arts at the University of Palermo and a graduate degree in History of Art (with a specialization address on contemporary art) at the University of Bologna.
He followed a course of curatorship at the specialization school of the Fondazione Fotografia (Foundation for Photography/Fondazione Modena Arti Vive) in Modena.
Art historian, critic and curator, he teaches Phenomenology of Contemporary Arts, History of Applied Arts and Multimedia Languages at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.
In 2017 he was curator of the National Pavilion of the Plurinational State of Bolivia at the 57th Art Biennale of Venice.
From 2021 he is President of AICA ITALY (International Association of Art Critics) and is a Board member of AICA International (Paris).
In 2019 he has published #Hashtagart. Notes for an applied phenomenology of visual arts, with a preface by Mark Gisbourne, published by Skira.
In 2021 he has published L’intervallo sospeso. Connettoma cronico dell’arte, with a preface by Renato Barilli, by Mimesis Edizioni.
