Pavegen is a people powered, kinetic tech floor tile that creates clean electricity and captivates the imagination of anyone that steps on it.

Let’s create cities that work for citizens, not machines. Technology alone won’t make cities perform more efficiently. It’s about changing behaviours. Pavegen is a smart, innovative platform that also provides people with the unique opportunity to interact physically with sustainability.

Making cities smarter with your steps.

With Pavegen’s kinetic technology, footsteps can provide engaging, clean energy-generating experiences to power off-grid bespoke applications such as lighting and environmental monitoring across a wide range of sectors.

Recent Pavegen installations include smart city developments, retail destinations, sports stadia and education institutions in Hong Kong, India, Korea, Thailand, UAE, UK and USA.

With over 200 projects in 36 different countries and having worked with some of the world’s best-known brands, our growing list of clients include Abu Dhabi International Airport, BNP Paribas, Ellandi, Google, Siemens, Transport for London and Urban Renewal Authority, Hong Kong.

As pedestrians walk across the Pavegen system, the weight from their footsteps compresses electromagnetic generators below, producing 2 to 4 joules, or around 5 watts of power of off-grid electrical energy per step.

Low-Power Bluetooth beacons in the system connect to smartphone apps, generating permission-based analytics and rewards for users. The system can act as a standalone installation or communicate with building management systems.
